The Furniture Gallery has opened in Osborne Park, following the opening of its first two stores in Joondalup and Cockburn Central almost a year ago.

The three furniture and homewares showrooms are owned and operated by Perth sisters Sophie Langa and Chrissy Palmer.

The 2500sqm Osborne Park store is two contrasting spaces. The first is light and bright – the ideal canvas for a collection of coastal and Hamptons-inspired pieces. Visitors can expect to find everything from aged-wire baskets and suspended kitchen utensil tracks to plump sofas and wingback chairs.

The rear of the store is a moody, edgier space with black ceilings and grey walls – a backdrop better suited to The Furniture Gallery’s contemporary furniture and homewares. Cushions, throw rugs and accessories from Australian labels Aura Home and MRD home sit alongside leather and fabric sofas, marble-topped tables, bookshelves and buffets, entertainment units and floor rugs.

The sisters said paying attention to their local market had led to success with the first two locations. For example, the Joondalup store’s market had a preference for the coastal and Hamptons-inspired collection.

“Its shades of light linen, soft greys and duck-egg blue bring a soothing, relaxed feel to any space,” Ms Palmer said.

“Our Meelup range, named after one of my favourite WA coastal locations, is exclusive to The Furniture Gallery and captures our WA lifestyle beautifully.”

South of the river, the Modern Industrial range had proven popular. “Think reclaimed timber, iron and aged leather,” Ms Palmer said.

Ms Langa said The Furniture Gallery seedling was first planted when the sisters spied a gap in the market.

“We were frustrated with the lack of choice of eclectic, on-trend furniture and home-decor pieces in Perth that were reasonably priced,” she said.

“We saw a gap in the market to so we created The Furniture Gallery, similar to a boutique business in terms of exclusivity and style but with the buying power of a national company that sources products directly.”

A free in-store styling service is also available to customers.
