Queen Beds: frequently asked questions
What size is a queen bed in Australia?
A queen mattress is 153 x 203 cm. The bed frame adds roughly 10 to 30 cm to the width and length, more with a tall bedhead or a footboard.
Queen or king bed: which should I choose?
A queen suits most bedrooms and most couples. A king is 30 cm wider and worth it if you share with children or pets or want more room, as long as the bedroom can still fit bedside tables and a 60 cm path around the bed.
Does a queen bed frame need a base or ensemble?
Usually not. Most of our queen bed frames have slatted bases that support the mattress directly, so you need only the frame and a mattress. The product page says if a particular bed needs a base.
Will a queen bed fit in my bedroom?
Allow about 165 to 185 cm of width for the frame plus 60 cm on each side you get in from, and about 215 to 235 cm of length plus room at the foot. A room 3.3 metres wide fits a queen with two bedsides comfortably.
Can I get a queen bed with storage?
Yes. Choose drawers in the base for things you use often, or a gas-lift base that lifts the whole mattress platform and stores the most.
Do you deliver and assemble queen beds in Perth and regional WA?
Yes. Add the bed to your cart and enter your postcode to see the delivery price; some regional areas need a custom quote through Find A Store. White-glove delivery includes unpacking, assembly and removal of packaging.
